Working with Tanzanian steel fabricator Faraji, Kibanda Cha Mbuzi is a contemporary goat house designed for the hot tropical climate of Mtwara. The pen is lifted off the ground to prevent damage during the rainy season, while creating a shady space for the goat (Nina) to escape the sunny in the day. The slatted facade improves ventilation whilst giving the goat perched views out. The short facades are hindged to create a ramp for the goat to enter at the back and easy way to put food and water in the pen.
